As preparations come to an end, the award winning designers at Davis Ink get ready to begin construction on the innovative interior of Russia’s newest restaurant and nightclub. The complete over-haul of 10,000 square foot former auto body shop has been highly anticipated as the Davis Ink team reinterprets a classic American 50’s diner and gives it an unexpected “wow” factor. The space exemplifies Davis Ink’s signature refined way of making the extreme beautiful.
The nostalgia of the 1950’s era is initially apparent in the venue’s black, white, pink and deep aqua color scheme with Teak wood and chrome accents throughout. Upon entering the restaurant, guests are greeted by an actual 1959 Cadillac planted right in the middle of the space with custom body work provided by Angela of G & D Auto, Southern California. Clean, modern architectural elements juxtapose with retro inspired features such as geometric Marilyn Monroe wallpaper, custom soda bar and LCD TV panels lining the walls above custom booth seating. The space is home to many custom art pieces such as circular display boxes filled with robots, telephones, and mannequin heads as well as back-lit acrylic panels which change color according to the music’s melody. Large-scale custom lighting includes a license plate chandelier which cascades down over the restaurant, and a floating, color changing Amoeba cloud light fixture in the nightclub. Seduction plays a key role in the design of various fur-lined soffits and an over sized pin up girl image lying under guests on the dance floor. The venue also includes a “camping” inspired play area for children which showcases an over sized graphic wall image of The Grand Canyon, faux boulders, rope bridge tree house, faux grass flooring and it’s very own log cabin. This project manifests a twist on stereotypes as Davis Ink reinvents the “Route 66” culture and classic 1950’s Americana. Stay tuned for more exciting details to come!
This is going to be awesome!
